Rain

The air is still, too still;
A thick, damp air is upon us.
Heavy and dark is the blanket above,
And I feel it.
First one, then two;
The amount accelerates.
Everything is touched;
It smells of bacteria and wet grass.
The wind has picked up,
And a sinister rumble is
Accumulating above.
It’s both exciting and relaxing,
Maybe a touch frightening.
The rain has come,
The rain has come.
